At Green Metal Roofing, we stand behind the quality of our Arcelormittal steel metal roofing materials with a comprehensive 55-year warranty. This warranty covers your installed roofing system against:
- Corrosion and Rusting: Protection against deterioration of the Arcelormittal steel materials caused by oxidation.
- Paint Flaking and Discoloration: Coverage for paint flaking, deterioration, and abnormal fading. We measure discoloration on a cleaned, exposed painted surface against the original or unexposed color. Please note that color changes may not be uniform if surfaces are not equally exposed to the sun and elements.
This warranty is subject to the additional terms and conditions listed below.
Terms and conditions GREEN METAL ROOFING AND MANUFACTURING INC.
All warranty work will only be completed upon inspection, direction and approval of a Green Metal Roofing and Manufacturing Inc. (“Green Metal”) quality control officer or other duly authorized person. The limited warranty applies to the above named owner only. This warranty is not a guarantee of a roofing system to the satisfaction of Green Metal and the above-named warranties. This warranty includes labour coverage for 20 years from the installation date listed on this certificate.
This warranty is not a guarantee of a roofing system for a specific period of time or that the roof will not require further maintenance and/or servicing.
Any unauthorized use of this product for other than what it is intended for, automatically voids this warranty.
The warranty does not include any damages caused by snow and ice falling off the roof whether it is on the buyer’s property or on neighbouring and adjoining properties.
DM&MT coating 30 year warranty. The warranty does not apply to the deterioration of the surface coating, including fading, staining or discoloration, caused by abnormal atmospheric conditions including, but not limited to, hailstones, sand and salt, as well as foreign matter, chemicals, and acids. The warranty does not cover damages caused by acids, alkalis, corrosive gases, solvents, lubricants, and other chemical or corrosive agents that may be used to treat perforation or other related paint problems.
Green Metal will not be held liable for any damages caused by heavy ice buildup, freezing water inside the wall, penetrating ice dams, ice cone buildup, falling ice or general condensation. Green Metal will not be held responsible for any growth and or spread of mould. Green Metal will not be held responsible for any ice dams, ice buildup, or ice cones/kicles or freezing of water.
Green Metal will not be held responsible for the nesting/presence of any birds, squirrels, or other animals on or within the roof.
The warranty does not cover damages arising from, or owing to, the following: Deterioration of structure or underlying lead flashing, damage to mortar, any metallic contact with copper or lead, areas sheltered from periodic rainfall, washings such as underside of soffits, circumstances where the corrosive fumes and condensation are generated and released in dwelling/building. Failure to provide free drainage of water, including internal condensation, and areas where there is a constant or has been a constant source of standing water.
Damage due to acts of God, including by not limited to lightning strikes, tornadoes, hurricanes, extreme hail, earthquakes, radiation, falling objects, explosions or other external forces. The conditions which can damage products, defects in original construction, settlement of the building or improper/miscellaneous damage including but not limited to work being performed by homebuyers, other contractors or abuse, vandalism and structural movement and settling of building.
Claims must be applied for defective products without undue delay after they are discovered. Claims must be received in writing, together with a copy of the original invoice (proof of purchase) within 15 days of the date of discovery. Failure to notify Green Metal, or its duly authorized agent, will void the warranty claim.
A copy of this warranty certificate must be provided when requesting a warranty transfer to a new homeowner. All transfer requests must be submitted via email to [email protected] and done so within 30 days of the closing date, otherwise this warranty becomes null and void. This warranty is subject to a transfer fee of $150 and is valid for a maximum of 10 years from installation.
Oil canning is a natural occurring phenomenon that appears as a waviness or dimpling in the surface of some metal roofing panels. Oil canning does not affect the structural integrity of the product and is not a cause for rejection or reimbursement.
Green Metal Roofing reserves the right to examine and verify the failure/defects claimed by repairing the defect, replacing the defective parts, or financial compensation in an amount proportionate to the value of the seriousness of the defect in question. Green Metal’s decision on how to resolve the claim is binding and final. Green Metal reserves the right to modify or terminate this warranty except with respect to orders which it has already accepted upon proper reception of written notice of claims.
